She Matters
Her Rights, Her Future.
Advancing the rights of girls and women through school and community engagement programs.
Why we exist.
We support women and girls in informal and peri-urban areas, helping them adapt to climate change, social inequalities, and limited resources. These communities often face environmental challenges, food insecurity, and economic hardships, yet their needs are overlooked in larger climate policies.We aim to provide them with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to thrive. We amplify their voices in climate action, advocate for inclusive policies, and create sustainable solutions for a better future. Every woman and girl deserves the chance to succeed, regardless of her background.
Our Mission.
To actualize and advance women and girls’ right in all their diversities through school and community engagement, economic empowerment, mentorship programs and advancing sexual reproductive health rights within Kisumu County.Have a look at some of our projects below;
Boresha Mazingira.
BORESHA MAZINGIRA is a Swahili word which simply means let us protect the environment. We have ventured into smart agriculture where we train women in all their diversities to come up and construct sustainable, organic kitchen garden farms. The aim is to end and reduce poverty by providing green jobs for our beneficiaries to improve their livelihoods. The projects looks into the health and wellbeing of our beneficiaries by providing them with safe and nutritious food.

Tusemezane.
‘TUSEMEZANE’ is a Swahili word which means let us talk. We are passionate about Mental and Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. Our mental health sessions are geared towards checking the mental state and capacity of our beneficiaries. We have a mental wellness hub where we do monthly meet ups and onboard a trained psychologist who can advise our beneficiaries appropriately.
SRHR
We’ve had community dialogues and engagement centered on Gender Based Violence and SRHR and this we have done through outreaches, having focus group discussions and town hall conversations that cut across these topics. We have directly linked survivors of GBV to institutions focusing on legal aid and health and ensured track for them to get justice.

Fursa Zake
Under Fursa zake we have a school engagement program on climate smart agriculture. We have successfully trained five schools on climate justice and trained them on setting their organic kitchen gardens. The project has linked the school with the market where they can sell their produce with the aim of buying dignity packs for girls of reproductive age who cannot afford sanitary towels, these packages are then left with the guidance and counseling teacher and the girls can pick them when on their period.
